Flock: Team Communication App Examine App

App does not work for mobile devices

I’m not sure why but I have tried using the app and web browser on my iPhone 11 and iPad Pro and it just won’t load for whatever reason. It’s pretty frustrating.

Glitchy waste of time

The app will crash if you reply to someone’s message. The app will crash if you @ someone. If you are catching up on missed messages, Flock will randomly load other messages and skip around on the page forcing you to lose your spot. Don’t waste your time here, use telegram or some alternative that doesn’t crash and jump around every 5 seconds

Notifications doesn’t work

A messaging app is only as good as the notifications of those message. Very disappointing

Don’t get it

If you get this the customer service is terrible. And if you want to cancel your subscription there’s no cancel button. You have to send an email, reply to several emails, and wait for them to “escalate “ the request. Totally annoying.

Great App!

This is a great app, I use it to talk to my friends, and its really useful! Im satisfied!😁👍🏼

I cannot access my team

Hey it is stuck on the page that says create team name url, I see at the bottom a button that says “discover teams you can join” and when I click on it it does not work. My coworker has accepted my request to join the team but when I open the link it’s stuck on the same page again.

It’s pretty good...

The only thing I’m trying to figure, if there is a way to send videos. If anybody know how please let me know.

Akron Phil

Flock is a great collaboration app. It’s not too “busy” like some of the others. We’ve been using it about a year now in our church business office and we are very pleased. I only had to contact support once and they were very responsive.

Great until the bugs

I was really happy with Flock until I needed to change my associated email address and everything seemed to fall apart. First, it seems as though you can’t change your email address, you have to make a new account. My old account was the admin account so I had to switch that around, but that’s when I was no longer able to see my channels or any past communications. At this point Flock started to show some bugs. It was showing both my email addresses as admins (there should only be one anyways as I don’t pay for pro). Then channels slowly started to show up on the desktop application but not on the phone app or online but I could only join certain channels not all (even though I’m the admin). I ah to delete the phone app to get back in as to only would ask for a pin for my old email and wouldn’t let me login with my new email.

Love it

It has worked great for me and my team. I recently started working from home and we use flock to communicate between each other and we haven’t had any issues.

It was promissing but last year

I agree with last last comments that it’s a stong feeling that the app is not a #1 priority for Flock. Moreover, I think that Flock itself, what we have now for desktop or mobile, experience some troubles. I like to follow a blogs of the product I use daily and according to the content that companies publish you could see their global strategy with a validation of accomplished goals. Flock team just re-post some general topics about the team management and so on, instead of letting know how is their product going. Don’t want to sound upset, but my team will start searching for something new, at least we would be well prepared to move somewhere when Flock ends. Hope that never happens though and wish just all the best to the team and look forward to see some updates. At least something.

Lot of potential, not quite there.

My biggest issue at the moment is the app freezing while using it on an iPhone 10s. When I tap the chat line to type nothing happens, but if I start to swipe up (to close the app) the app will catch up with the commands I've pressed. This can be annoying. When I want to go back from a chat to dashboard, again it freezes, I swipe up, the app loads, then I continue.

Unnecessarily complicated

Used to be a good app, but they keep making it more complicated (ie...you need to read user guides just to figure out how to properly add a user. Silly). They forgot what was good about this app

Unable to sign in

I’ve already created my account on the web through flock website, however the app refuses to let me in by asking me to verify my email, but it won’t bring up the google dialog box to allow me to verify. So currently I can’t even use the app. Please help!

Mediocre

An infuriatingly shameless clone of Slack, only without its most important feature - notifying you only on mentions or direct chats. This forces you to turn off notifications altogether, and miss important messages. I mean, come on, guys. You copied everything else from Flock, so why not this too?

Notifications

Not sure why I get a notification when people log on to the app or their computers, even when I have turned my notifications off. This is the most annoying thing about any app!

Great except for a (possible) bug?

I am loving Flock so far, the desktop app is perfect.... but the mobile app has a glitch whenever I am typing a message out and go back to add / correct a word, basically modify anything in my message I’ve type out so far, it will end up selecting everything after the spot I’m editing and I haven’t once caught that it selected everything before typing another character which ends up deleting the rest of my message. This is extremely annoying and frustrating, countless times I’ve had a 2-3 paragraph message written out and have gone back to change a word resulting in the rest of the remaining message being auto-selected and I end up accidentally typing a character, thus deleting everything (and of course I’m always changing a word in the first sentence or 2 so I lose at least 2 paragraphs worth of writing. My team has moved to a different team messaging app SOLELY because of this mobile bug. I love Flock, and mostly use it on Desktop so I would love to continue using it, however like I said the team has started transitioning to a new team messaging platform. If you could please fix this mobile bug ASAP then I think my team will come back to Flock as they aren’t yet familiar with the new app we moved to.

Pretty useful to me...

This works perfectly for me..... the only thing I would need.... AND I REALLY MISS THAT: FOLDER UPLOAD/TRANSFER!!! NOT ONLY FILE UPLOAD! In my project we share a lots of pics to upload and share. And have to do it on Google Drive (which is asking now the entire time for authorization to be shared) I share it through Flock, and Google Drive asks for authorization. We don’t even know why! This wasn’t happening before. So it’s a real pain ... DEVELOPERS- WE REALLY NEED A FOLDER UPLOAD/TRANSFER/SHARE OPTION DIRECTLY FROM FLOCK! Pleeeease!

Still needs work

Right now, the mobile app doesn’t reflect the functionality of the desktop app. The UI is not intuitive, Notes errors out when trying to add a new note from mobile, deleted todos still show up in the shared todos bot (confusing), and viewing a todo from the shared todo bot just brings up a blank pop up. We are evaluating Flock for team use and so far I am not impressed by the mobile app.

App

I like flock on the computer but the phone app does not send out a pin to my email. Nothing.

How to sign out

The app works great but how do I sign out and sign in with a different account?

Amazing

I switched my entire team over from Slack about 3 months ago and couldn't be happier. This is a dedicated development team that is constantly pushing out new features and seeking to understand how they can make their product better. It's truly impressive, and I'm proud to call my team a Flock team. Great work guys.

Awesome

Really useful and dynamic app!
